Female

Cindy Nicol is an eight-year-old girl currently in the third grade. She enjoys playing—an activity vital to her emotional, social, and physical well-being. She finds happiness spending time with her parents, who are central to her immediate family and provide a crucial source of affection and security. She dreams of becoming a hairstylist, reflecting her interest in a creative, practical, and service-oriented career. Although she faces no specific academic difficulties, her family deals with financial constraints that primarily impact basic needs such as food, school supplies, and adequate living space for her development. With support regarding nutrition, education, healthcare, recreation, and family guidance, Cindy will be able to grow up in a more stable, secure environment filled with opportunities.

Poverty in Honduras

Children from low-income backgrounds in Honduras face significant obstacles that can limit their opportunities, including risky environments, interrupted education, health issues, and limited prospects for decent employment.

That is why our approach focuses on helping children stay in school, build confidence, and thrive in safe, supportive environments while developing the skills they need for the future. Through educational support, health and nutrition resources, and other programs led by expert local staff, children develop self-confidence, resilience, and the tools to become healthy adults capable of shaping their own futures.
